THE CHALLENGE

Before introducing Gantner’s solution, Sports Place faced recurring issues with its previous locker system, which couldn’t keep up with high daily member turnover. The brand needed a fault-free, secure, and easy-to-use setup that could handle intensive use while reducing staff intervention. Drawing on positive experiences with Gantner systems in other European locations, the team sought a smart, intuitive, and quickly deployable solution — one that wouldn’t interrupt daily operations and could integrate seamlessly into the gym environment.

SOLUTION

To address these needs, Gantner implemented ECO.Locks in combination with the GT7 as an info terminal. Delivering a smooth, digital, and autonomous locker experience. Both Portuguese facilities were equipped in just one day each — Guimarães with pre-integrated lockers and Braga via retrofit — proving the system’s flexibility and efficiency.
Members now use their existing wristbands for both access and locker use, creating a frictionless transition without the need for additional credentials. The fully centralized management platform simplifies daily operations, minimizes support requests, and enhances overall user satisfaction.

ECO.Lock

Coin locks are a thing of the past. No one wants to be without the convenience of smart locking systems. A forgotten locker number can be read at the information terminal, a lost data carrier can be quickly replaced and coins are, of course, no longer required. Wireless networking can be used to read the occupancy rate of the system and the battery information centrally.

GT7

The GT7 terminal, with or without a fingerprint or barcode reader, stands out due to its features like RFID and NFC identification and its unique app concept. The apps can be uploaded onto the universal hardware and determine whether the device is used as an access, time, or info terminal.

With the corresponding app, our GT7 can also be used as a central terminal for managing locker locks. In this case, lockers can be selected and opened centrally via the GT7. The lock can then be operated directly at the locker or still be controlled via the terminal.
