THE CHALLENGE

The Spencer Hotel required a modern and secure solution to manage access throughout its leisure facilities while simplifying the experience for guests and members. A key objective was ensuring that only authorised users could enter the gym and changing areas through real-time membership validation connected to the Legend leisure management platform.

At the same time, the hotel was upgrading its changing rooms and needed a reliable locker system that complemented the new interior design. The hotel also wanted to streamline the user journey by introducing a single waterproof RFID medium that could be used for both access control and locker operation.

SOLUTION

Gantner delivered a fully integrated access control and smart locker solution tailored to the hotel’s operational and user experience requirements. GT7 terminals were installed across all key entry points, including the gym entrance, changing room corridors, and male and female changing areas.

The system integrates directly with the Legend leisure management software, enabling real-time membership verification and automatically restricting access for expired users. This not only improves security but also supports membership renewal opportunities at reception.

As part of the changing room refurbishment, 140 ECO.Side Locks were installed on lockers throughout the facility. Their discreet, almost invisible design aligned perfectly with the upgraded aesthetics while providing secure battery-powered locking with integrated alarm function for further protection.

To further improve convenience, a GT7 Info Terminal was added to help users quickly locate their assigned locker using their RFID wristband. The complete solution is unified through waterproof RFID wristbands, allowing guests and members to move seamlessly throughout the facility without interruption.
