Smart Locker Workflows for Internal Logistics

Everyday logistics in highly frequented buildings are often more complex than they appear. Parcels arrive continuously, mail must be distributed, colleagues exchange equipment, and visitors need temporary storage. Without a structured process, reception teams fall back on spreadsheets, sticky notes, or ad hoc handovers that consume valuable time and create uncertainty about who collected what, and when.

LX Suite

LX Suite changes this. It gives operations teams a repeatable way to reserve lockers, manage drop-offs, and notify recipients. Each step is tracked through clear booking states, items are collected on time, and staff regain control without adding friction for end users.

Who LX Suite is designed for

LX Suite is designed for environments where handovers are frequent, employees do not have fixed workplaces, and accountability matters.

Typical use cases include:

  • Multi-residential lobbies managing growing numbers of parcels, that need to be distributed to the recipient on a daily base.
  • Offices and corporate campuses where teams exchange materials daily
  • Universities and dormitories handling student deliveries
  • Hospitals, museums, and theme parks that host both staff and visitors who require item pickup

If your operations team wants to stay firmly in control while making handovers effortless for users, LX Suite is the right fit.

How LX Suite works

The LX Suite flow is simple but comprehensive:

  1. Reservation: A site admin creates the booking in the web app to ensure every handover is tracked and controlled. The admin selects the drop-off person and the recipient, chooses the locker size, and sets the timeframe. The drop-off person is the one physically placing the item in the locker, such as a logistics staff member or a colleague. Once the booking is confirmed, credentials are generated automatically and sent by email.
  2. Drop-off: At the locker, the drop-off person authenticates with their credential. The compartment opens, the item is placed inside, and the booking advances to “Ready for Pickup.” The recipient is notified immediately.
  3. Pickup:  The recipient authenticates at the locker, retrieves the item, and the booking closes as “Completed.”

LX Suite also handles exceptions. If a drop-off never occurs within the reservation window, the booking can be marked “No Show” and the locker is released automatically. If a package remains after the configured free-stay period ends, the system moves it to “Overdue.” From there, an admin can easily resolve it assigning a collector to remove the item and free the locker.

What LX Suite includes:

  • Staff-controlled reservations via the web app, with options to assign drop-off and recipient roles, locker sizes, and timeframes
  • App-free access for end users with QR, PIN, or NFC credentials sent by email or using personal ones.
  • Clear booking states (Booked, Ready, Overdue, Completed, Collected) that make handovers transparent
  • Offline continuity: if network connectivity is lost, recipients can still pick up using their codes, and operations sync automatically once the connection is restored.
  • Scalability per terminal: one terminal can control up to 192 lockers, making the setup adaptable for small lobbies or large-scale facilities.
  • Behind the scenes, LX Suite runs on proven Gantner hardware: GT7 Terminal for user interactions, GAT SMART.Locks securing each compartment, the GAT SMART.Controller orchestrating lock control, and a USB desktop reader for fast credential enrollment.

Benefits of using LX Suite

  • Greater front-desk efficiency: reception teams save time by reducing manual parcel logging and follow-up calls.
  • Fewer misplaced items: clear booking states reduce confusion and disputes
  • Simpler for everyone: recipients and visitors just follow emailed instructions - no app, no training required.
  • Lockers kept available: overdue handling ensures items are eventually removed, so lockers do not remain blocked indefinitely.
  • Greater visibility for staff: operations always know the current booking status and can act quickly if something needs attention.

The bigger picture

LX Suite is part of the vision of seamless smart locker and access systems across buildings. It replaces fragmented, manual processes with a consistent, staff-managed flow that covers parcels, mails, exchanges, and temporary storage.

See it in action

LX Suite transforms how buildings handle daily logistics - no apps, no courier dependencies, just a smooth staff-managed flow that works for everyone.
